Our drift car is getting a total makeover as well as a new engine. Along the way we will be taking photos and posting them here. Stay tuned for more......

And so it begins, after a bit of work in a cold wet shed with no electric we managed to strip most of the sound proofing from the car as well as fit a set of fully adjustable coil-overs, a new rev counter and a boost  gauge as well as a new CA18DET engine as the previous one had decided to retire along with the clutch with some help from Lee!

At this stage we decided that the roof and bonnet would look much better in Gloss black so that was done also. A set of leather seats from an Executive 200sx also found their way into the car after the original cloth ones were showing some wear.

Around this time a set of  White 16" Buddyclub P1 Alloys were acquired and suited the car perfectly. A rear strut brace and lower anti roll bar were fitted at this time also.

The next addition to the car was a short shifter. This helped reduce the throw of the gears.

After some testing and setting the coilovers we started to think about more power. Originally we had decided to tune the CA18det as it was a nice high revving engine that had lots of  potential. We decided that a T28 Turbo was required along with some other choice mods. Whilst we were waiting on the tuning parts to be collected we continued on with the suspension end of things.

We took the car into our new workshop that didn't leak or have a howling gale blowing in. but best of all we finally had power!

After placing the car on axel stands we removed the wheels in order to fit the new suspension components.

A set of camber arms and traction control arms were added at the rear as well as removing the diff and the coilovers for a freshen up.

At this stage after we tested some colours out we decided to spray the car in satin black as this was one of the easiest colour to touch in if there were any drift scars.

Almost as soon as the paint was dry and the car was back on its 4 wheels some testing was required in order to set the new suspension components as well as the refreshed diff.

After this the car was left alone for a few months as I got some more practice in as well as hunting down the required parts for tuning the CA18DET. We now had a turbo but still needed bigger injectors and a Z32 AFM among other parts.

All was going well until the opportunity to buy a damaged R33 Skyline GTs-T came up. As I already had one of these and knew car well. I began to think about the RB25DET engine in the 200sx rather than tuning the CA18DET. The more I thought about it the more it made sense, I liked the way the RB delivered the power, as well as being a lot more reliable than the CA it delivered more bang for buck. The decision was made to revamp the whole car once again. New engine, new paint, new seats and new kit.

A few days later this arrived in the pouring rain.

With the whole car there it made life and swapping engines a lot easier.  As the workshop had been taken over by another car for the time being we worked on stripping the engine and subframe from the R33.
